Consider again the question posed at the beginning of this unit: So, what things have shaped your self-image and how you feel about yourself?

For your reading project for this unit, choose ONE of the following choices and click on the related page in this book to get more details:

A. Monologue: You are writing a speech on yourself and your perception of who you are. Discuss your self-image and how you feel about yourself.  What things have shaped your self-image?  Now record your speech and submit the audio file.  I suggest using Vocaroo.

B. Create a Positive Self-Image Award/Certificate. Write an explanation for the award and outline the the criteria for winning it.

C. Create a brochure on one of the following:

  • the importance of having a positive self-image
  • cyberbullying

Content: Content is researched, interesting and informative.Overall presentation is neat and appealing.

Organization: In brochure format, including 3 panels on each side of the paper for a total of 6. Ideas are presented in effective format (at least two must be in paragraph format; the others can be lists, graphs, charts etc.).
