Force of Gravity

In the previous examples, we were provided with the Force applied.

Sometimes, we can calculate the force ourselves.

For example, the weight of something near the Earth's surface is a simple calculation:

F = mg

where,

  • m = the mass of the object (in kg)
  • g = 9.8 m/s2 = gravitational constant
  • F = the force of gravity (or weight) of the object
