Midterm Assessment Assignment

Now that you have read the "I can" statements for the Communication and Thinking competencies and reflected on your abilities, it's time to show your growth as a learner.

ASSIGNMENT:  Choose one of the Question Prompts in each competency and respond on the templates provided.  You can also view a student sample for each of the templates.  There are many formats of self-assessment.

You will submit 2 forms for this assessment.  One is on your abilities/growth as a learner in the Communication competency and one is on your abilities/growth as a learner in the Thinking competency.  You can use images, video, etc. to discuss what you have learned.  Consider what skills and processes you have developed in relation to the communication and thinking competencies.  How might you show this growth?  In what ways might you further develop your skills?

Writing Targets

Ideas and Content:

6/6 Exemplary understanding of the assignment.  Ideas are fully developed.  Accomplishes the purpose with originality, individuality and maturity and sophistication. 

Organization and Supporting Details: 

6/6  Structure is logical and the writing as a whole may appear effortless.  Supporting details are specific and clearly contribute to the central idea and make insightful connections.

Conventions:

6/6 Work has been proofread and there are almost no errors in basic punctuation, capitalization and spelling.  Vocabulary and sentence structure are varied, skillfully written, and carefully chosen.

Reflection and Insight:

6/6: Complex connections and original ideas are included in a thoughtful response that includes specific examples of the student's learning process and growth.
