2.1 Criminal Law - Mr. Pink
For this assignment, you will be looking at a criminal case that was tried in a BC court. You will be writing a dialogue between a BC man facing criminal charges and his lawyer. Read the case study of Mr. Pink below. Names and details have been altered.
The scenario for the dialogue
Mr. Pink is meeting with his lawyer for the first time. Mr. Pink's lawyer. who we will call Mr. Brown, recommends that Mr. Pink plead guilty to all charges against him. He recommends that Mr. Pink should explain his difficult background and ask for leniency based on his situation.
Mr. Pink tells the lawyer that he is not willing to plead guilty. He insists that it is Mr. Brown's job to give him other options.
Mr. Brown then explains the process of arraignment and explains how he expects the trial will go based on the different pleas.
Based on this discussion, Mr. Pink makes up his mind as to how he is going to plea.
You will type this document in a word-processor. It should be 350 -500 words. You may be able to record the dialogue as an audio file, but will need to have this approved by your teacher.
