4.4 Synthesis Essay

Task:

Construct a well-written multi-paragraph expository composition responding to the prompt which follows.  Your essay should have an introduction with a clear thesis, well-developed body paragraphs and a clear conclusion. Your essay should be three to five paragraphs long about 500 words.  Each paragraph should be five to eight sentences. Be sure to provide specific examples from the three poems to support your thesis.  You must discuss the 3 poems from the previous lesson in your essay.  Use your notes and teacher feedback from Assignment 4.3 Nature Imagery.  I would encourage you to wait for this feedback before writing this essay.

PROMPT:  Discuss the ways in which the three poets use descriptive language to show how nature parallels life.

Written Expression:  Exemplary (6/6):  Sentence structure and vocabulary are varied, skillfully written, and carefully chosen.  Work has been proofread and there are few or no errors in spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and grammar.  Content contributes to the central idea and makes insightful connections with logical organization.
