Assignment - Canadian Law

For this assignment, you will be reading about a case that appeared in the news in early 2019. You will then write a response to this case in which you demonstrate an understanding of the basic principles of law which you learned about in this section. 

Step 1- Reading

Read this case which explains why a group of lawyers is taking the provincial government to court over changes to ICBC. Before you begin go to the next step, you will need to make sure that you understand how this case illustrates the many ways that Canadians require our basic principles of law to be guaranteed a system that is fair to all. 

Step 2 - Responding 

Once you are sure that you understand the case, write a response of one to three paragraphs in which you explain why the principles that you learned about in this section are necessary to providing "impartial control" of the use of power by the state and how these principles guard against "arbitrary governance."
