Assignment - Air and Water Quality
For this assignment, you will be writing a report from the year 2040 on how issues of air and water quality were addressed and what the effects had been.
The purpose of this assignment is to show that you understand how pollution causes the health of ecosystems to deteriorate and how it impacts the health of people, animals and oceans and threatens food security.
Resources
To write this report, you will need to use these two resources in addition to the course materials which you have already read. You do not need to memorize anything here, but you should skim both resources so that you can draw on the information as you need it for your report. You should not use resources outside of the course.

The Scenario
You are a Canadian government scientist in the year 2040 who has been asked to write a report on how successful Canada has been in addressing issues of air and water quality in the past two decades. For the purposes of this assignment, you will be assuming that Canada has done everything in its power to improve air and water quality.
Your report will be divided into three parts:
1. Explain the situation that Canada was in today in regards to air and water quality. You should acknowledge that these issues occur in the context of the wider world while recognizing that this is not a global report.
2. Explain what the world had to do to turn the situation regarding air and water quality around. Address all of the challenges encountered over the past two decades or so.
3. Explain what the effects have been. What is Canada (in the context of the world) like in 2040 as a result of addressing these issues? You should mention human health and ecosystem health including animals and plants.
Remember that you must draw on the course materials and the two resources above in creating your report. Your report may include graphics but this is not required.
Give your report a title and each section a subtitle.
