Reader Responses

The Reader Responses give you an opportunity to share ideas, experiences, and opinions about things you've read in the novel. You will respond to what you are reading after each set of chapters.

Some responses must be in writing and for some responses, you will have choices for how to present your thoughts.

  • sentences or a paragraph
  • a picture with sentences of explanation
  • audio or video recordings (done using vocaroo.com, on your computer, or on a smart phone or tablet)

There will be some vocabulary activities built into your Reader Responses. You may also find new and unfamiliar words when you are reading. You are encouraged to find the meaning of some of these words, as well.

To find the meaning of a new word, you can:

  • use a dictionary
  • figure out the meaning using context clues from the words and sentences around it
  • ask your home facilitator

Be sure to download and save or print the Reader Responses for each set of chapters before you start reading those chapters.
